It Is Called A Daily Effort

Over the years, we learn many lessons. We learn what not to do and what to do. We observe the people around us and we learn about what characteristics we want to enhance and what characteristics we need to stay away from at all costs. In other words, we learn how we want to "be" and how we do not want to "be". The question is are we making progress? Are we growing on our journey? Are we paying attention and learning something new every day?

The fact is that we cannot sit back and relax on the work we did yesterday, last week, or last month. In order to keep learning we need to make a daily effort to improve in some way. Progress lies in making the effort each and every day. We will not have the same results every day. We will sometimes feel as if we are going backwards. But the truth of the matter is that we will still be moving forward even if it feels otherwise. If we are going to be facing a tough challenge next week, next month, or next year, chances are we will obtain the necessary faith, strength, and courage we need at the time of the challenge. We will not receive the grace to face any obstacle until that obstacle has indeed arrived.

Each day we have the chance to continue on a path of positive growth. Each day, if we put effort into learning something new and helping others, we will continue to improve as human beings and our level of contentment with life will grow. The key is to put in an effort every day. We do not have to worry about the results - they will take care of themselves.

Today I will make an effort to learn new things and help others in any way I can. I will release the need to measure my success. I will trust that this is the best way for me to approach life. I know I will receive the strength and courage I need at the appropriate time. I am grateful. - K Kerswig, Blue Skies Life Coaching
