Have you ever heard the phrase "this too shall pass"? This phrase pertains to everything that happens in your life. It is not just about the challenges and difficulties that come your way. It is also true about the victories and the happy events that come and go. They all pass at some point. Things always get different.
As life goes on, we all learn the lesson that change is the only constant in life. People come and go in our lives, jobs lose their appeal, and our beliefs are always evolving based upon new information coming our way. Yet, as much as we know that change is inevitable, it still seems to be the most difficult thing to accept. Most of us want things to remain the same, ALWAYS. Could it be that the fear of the unknown is that powerful?
Maybe that is it. Maybe we would rather stick with what we know rather than step out of our comfort zone. Maybe this fear is so strong that we would keep ourselves in uncomfortable circumstances rather than try to do something different. Well, it is time to break that cycle and trust in the process of life. When changes occur we can take action, trust that things will get different at first, and then, hopefully, they will get better. And, if they do not get better, we can always make new choices and do something different again.
We will survive, we will be okay, and we will learn from every experience life sends our way. If we help each other during these times of change and transition, we will reap the rewards and life will not seem so difficult all of the time. We can change, together, and we can face all that life will throw our way.
Today I will face my challenges with my head held high, knowing that changes always help me learn to adapt and become a better person. I will ask for help with any changes that seem daunting or impossible. I am grateful because I know I do not have to do any of this alone. - K Kerswig, Blue Skies Life Coaching
