INSPIRATION AND CREATIVITY

"I wrote my first novel because I wanted to read it." - Toni Morrison, Pulitzer Prize- and Nobel Prize-winning writer

Inspiration can come from anywhere, at any time, from anyone. The idea that someone could be inspired to write a novel because they wanted to read it is superb. There is no reason why this cannot happen for more of us. We can become motivated to become creative at any moment. All we need to do is remain open to all possibilities.

There are always going to be times when we are challenged by life to do what we have never done before. Sometimes these challenges can inspire us to pursue a dream or set a goal to tackle a major project. The dream and/or project may be just the thing to bring us out of our comfort zone and get our creative juices flowing. Some people follow their instincts to write and realize they absolutely adore writing. Others take a dance class and become aware of just how much dance helps to soothe their souls. And yet others will start with a small construction project and they realize they want to work with their hands to build bigger and better things. The possibilities are endless.

Follow your heart. Listen for the whispers coming from within. Do not hesitate. You may find you have an amazing talent that will lead you down a completely unexpected path. Go ahead! You deserve to find what makes your soul sing. You're worth it!

Today I will remember what inspires me and I will do more of that very thing. I am truly grateful to have a chance every day to find out more about me and what I like to do. Life is such a blessing. - K Kerswig, CPC, CRC
