"The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues." - Elizabeth Taylor, Academy Award-winning actor, producer, and activist
I love this quote! I guess that some virtues could be annoying in other people if it interferes with my fun. :)
Nobody is perfect. This is a fact of life. We don't always make the right choices at the right time. As human beings, we have character defects that get in the way of living a life of perfection. That's okay though - we weren't made to live life that way.
I've learned to accept my human condition. In fact, the minister at my church has often said that we must accept our human condition in order to express our spiritual nature (thanks Rev. Jim). This works for me. If I don't accept the truth that I am human, I will always feel as if I'm falling short and that never gets me anywhere.
So, today I will remember that I am a human being with human feelings who will sometimes experience an error in judgment. My job is to be sure to make amends when necessary as soon as I realize something is awry and all will be well. I am grateful that I have learned to accept me for who I am as I am. That is one of the greatest gifts of all.
