"There is one purpose to life and one only: to bear witness to and understand as much as possible of the complexity of the world - its beauty, its mysteries, its riddles. The more you understand, the more you look, the greater is your enjoyment of life and your sense of peace. That's all there is to it. If an activity is not grounded in "to love" or "to learn", it does not have value." - Anne Rice novelist
Being grounded in loving and learning - that's what my life is all about today. However, this was not always my focus. In my younger days, my focus was on survival. I "existed" on a day-to-day basis, I worked full-time, and I was miserable. I hated the life I had created for myself but I couldn't figure out how to change it.
There has definitely been a shift in my thinking and with that shift has come a new love of life. My friends shared their ideas with me and showed me that life could be enjoyable. I've come to realize that there is so much to learn and observe that my life is full every day. My purpose in this life, as I'm observing and learning, is to help others as much as possible. That's just for me personally. Every one's definition of their own purpose in life is unique to them. To me that's just another gift of living life on life's terms. We can learn and grow at our own pace and define ourselves as we go along. We can all have different viewpoints and still enjoy life.
I am so grateful for the valuable life I've been blessed with now. I just need to pay attention to my surroundings and the results have been astounding. I am grateful.
