"We need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need twelve hugs a day for growth." - Virginia Satir, writer and family therapist
I absolutely love hugs! I can't seem to ever get enough of them. My friends all know that I am a hugger and they are always gracious enough to indulge me. I love my friends for that!
I grew up in NYC and I don't remember many of my neighbors every hugging much. My family didn't do a lot of hugging either. So when I met some wonderful people who did like to hug, I was slightly intimidated. I didn't want to participate in the "hugging" thing but everyone was so nice that I went along with it. After awhile, I found out it was just as much fun to give hugs as it was to receive them. Now I'm a hugging machine. I cannot be stopped!
Now with all of this being said, I don't think I reach the minimum quota of four hugs every day. Some days I get more than twelve, but if I average it all out, I think my number is low. So look out friends - I'll be looking for you and I will be on a hugging mission. LET'S HUG! :)
