Scale Of Responsibility

"I find it interesting that the meanest life, the poorest existence, is attributed to God's will, but as human beings become more affluent, as their living standard and style begin to ascend the material scale, God descends the scale of responsibility at a commensurate speed." - Maya Angelou, poet, educator, historian, best-selling author and activist

This is an interesting perspective. I know several people who tend to follow this line of thinking and it boggles my mind. I just don't agree with it at all.

I've been through the normal ups and downs in life. I've experienced some traumatic events and I've enjoyed many a joyous occasion as well. The one thing that remains consistent for me now is my appreciation for God as I welcome everything that comes to me on a daily basis. I owe EVERYTHING to God's grace in my life. I would be in the pits of despair without it. Today I thank God for all that He has given me and I will continue to give Him the credit. He is the only reason I'm doing as well as I am. Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!
