Extend Love

I had the privilege of attending one of Marianne Williamson's lectures this week and all I can say is WOW! She was dynamic, thoughtful, and consistent in her message of love. The message was clear - it is time to love and we are to do so now.

I was held back for many years by not extending love in the present moment. I was too busy speaking and acting like a victim. It was a comfortable role for me and I wasn't willing to step out and choose to become something different. The truth for me, however, lies in the quote above. I was not extending love in the present and that meant I wasn't able to receive love either.

Ms. Williamson's message was repeated throughout her lecture on intimate relationships and the spiritual path. In order to receive, we must first give. The more love I give, the more I receive. This has been true for me since I released the idea of waiting for love to "come find me". I have learned to extend love and compassion to everyone I meet on a daily basis. The results have been astounding in my life. I am living each day in love and kindness and that is what I receive as I extend my love in the present.

Today I will choose to remain loving to all I meet. I will extend love so that I will not be held back and I will experience the joy that is mine for this day.
