"The world is wide, and I will not waste my life in friction when it could be turned into momentum." - Frances Willard, nineteenth-century educator and suffragist
There are certain words in the English language that get my attention immediately. "Momentum" is one of those words. I have an image in my mind of going down a snow-covered hill on a sled. It starts off slow and builds up momentum, creating a wonderful sensation of gliding in an effortless fashion. Momentum is exciting.
I like this quote - it is a reminder for me that I don't need to look for or participate in friction of any kind. I am moving forward in life, gaining momentum every day. It is true that the world is wide and I'm learning that I have everything I need - all of the strength and courage I will ever need is inside of me. I just need to tap into it and all will be well.
So, as usual, another quote has reminded me of just how wonderful life is. Today I affirm I will not waste my life in any way. Today I am building momentum!
