"If you want a place in the sun, you have to expect a few blisters." - Loretta Young, Academy Award-winning actor
I would imagine it is not easy to be famous. There are people who are so famous that they can't go out to dinner or buy groceries without having an army of photographers following their every move. This could be considered the cause of at least some of the blisters referred to in the quote above.
I used to think I wanted my own place in the sun and I imagined that could only happen if I was famous and became rich beyond my wildest dreams. I decided that fame was the best thing that could ever happen to me. Now, I am not famous on a national or international level, but I must admit I feel as if I've found my personal place in the sun. It's not what I imagined it would be - it is much, much better!
My place in the sun comes from my connection to God. My place in the sun is a place of intense love, caring, and comfort. My place in the sun is a place of compassion and I have been blessed with a love of life that I didn't even know existed.
So, while it may be true that we should expect a few blisters along the way, I think I'll stick with my version of a place in the sun instead. God's with me everywhere I go and I know He is in complete control of my life. This is how I choose to live and it works well for me. Everyone has their own place in the sun. Today I pray that you will find yours and that you will enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine. Namaste.
