"Every day offers you 10,000 reasons to cry, but if you can find just one reason to laugh then you will be all right." - Maya Angelou, poet, educator, historian, best-selling author, and activist
I love to laugh. It's something that seems to come naturally these days. I'm not referring to laughing at others, I mean laughing with others. There is so much to enjoy in this life. I believe that's what God wants us to do - to enjoy life and laugh as often as possible.
I think it's safe to say that there have been many reasons to cry lately. The situation in Japan continues to be of grave concern for our whole planet. Every time I get on my computer, the headlines are negative and depressing. I don't usually see much about the positive side of life at first glance. I'm learning to seek out the positive storylines now. I've come to realize that I don't have to sit in the negativity that surrounds me. Instead, I choose to listen to positive music, repeat positive affirmations in my meditation, and hang around people who choose to do the same. It's helped my overall attitude immensely. Laughter is a gift and I use that gift every day.
I'm always drawn to the beautiful quotes of Maya Angelou. I'm learning to follow those who express themselves in this manner. I'm grateful for my life today and I'm most grateful for my ability to laugh and find joy in this world. Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!
