I'll Take The Aging Option

"Either you age or you die, so I'll take the aging option, please." - Elle Macpherson, model and businesswoman

This helps put everything into perspective, doesn't it? I have a good friend who always reminds me that if we are on "this side of the grass" then it's a good day. He says it beats the alternative. He's right!

I've found myself taking life for granted sometimes. I just assume that I'm going to wake up and have another day to spend as I choose on this earth. The truth is that we never really know what's going to happen or when our time here on earth will end. I've had several dear friends pass away over the last few years and I miss them so much. I think I just assumed they would always be around to talk to, to spend time with, and to experience life with. But that's not the case anymore. They will always be in my heart but there are days when I want them here physically so I can visit with them. It's a selfish want really - I just want to feel better. But that's not how it is to be. Today I accept God's will rather than fighting to impose my will upon anyone or anything.

Life can be joyful and it can be difficult. It's the people in my life who help me in tough times and who rejoice with me in my victories. Today I pray that I will always treasure and appreciate them. God has gifted me with beautiful friends and I will honor that gift by being the best friend I can be for as long as I am around. Namaste to all.
