A Role To Play

"Whether or not you have children yourself, you are a parent to the next generation. If we can only stop thinking of children as individual property and think of them as the next generation, then we can realize we all have a role to play." - Charlotte Davis Kasl, psychologist and author

This is an important statement. As I've been writing this blog, I've been intrigued by many of the spiritual, thought-provoking quotes on this daily calendar. But this one has really pulled on my heart. This is a concept that could do a lot of good for a lot of people, to say the least!

One of the principles I've been taught is to lead by example and this could work well in the setting described above. If we all took this role seriously and led by example, I believe more people would learn to work together and respect each other which, in turn, would trickle down to children. That would be a true blessing for all.

Today I pray that more of us will acknowledge and accept the responsibility of parenting the next generation. May we all work together to help those children find peace and serenity along their journey.
