Marinating In Life Experiences

"A seasoned woman is spicy. She has been marinated in life experiences. Like a complex wine, she can be alternately sweet, tart, sparkling, mellow. She is both maternal and playful. Assured, alluring, and resourceful." - Gail Sheehy, writer and lecturer

As life goes by, we learn lessons from everything we experience. This could be described as "marinating" in life. Each experience gives us information to add to our knowledge bank and that is where we go when we are faced with a decision. We can base our decisions on what has happened to us in the past. These are called "informed" decisions and we all do the best we can with the information we have at that moment.

The most important part of life is learning how to take our experience and use it to make us better and more positive people. This is when we can become playful or resourceful or thoughtful or sweet. Being a seasoned person is not necessarily a bad thing. Being seasoned means there is a wealth of experience and knowledge to fall back on every day. We simply have to tap into that knowledge and all will be well. So here's to being sparkling and mellow and assured and alluring. Let's be all we can be - every day!

Today I will choose to be playful and resourceful. I will treat others with loving kindness and I will help those who are in need. I am grateful.
