Meeting The Demand

"Never be afraid to meet to the hilt the demand of either work or friendship - two of life's major assets." - Eleanor Robson Belmont, actor

'Always do your best' is probably a phrase that many of us have heard over the years. Doing less than our best can certainly cause us to disappoint the people in our lives who want us to have the best that life has to offer. Our friends and family usually want us to be successful and so they may sometimes feel the need to remind us to try harder and do better. It is important to remember they mean well and want us to be happy.

It is difficult to meet the demands of work and friendship all the time however. We cannot be all things to all people, no matter how dedicated we may be. If we can learn to live in the moment, then we can give our all to work and friends. All work or all play does not usually help a person achieve all they were meant to achieve. There can be balance in life. We need not be afraid as long as we do not get blinded to one aspect or the other.    We do not need to be workaholics and we do not need to remain lazy seven days a week. We can work hard and we can enjoy our leisure time. It is up to us to keep the focus where it needs to be.

Today I will meet the demands that come my way, whether it be from work or friendship. I welcome the opportunity to enjoy life's assets. I am grateful.
