"Every day brings a chance to start over." - Oprah Winfrey, TV personality
Each day feels like a new beginning to me. I'm excited to see what God has in store for me and I'm confident in the fact that He will provide me with the strength I need for that day. As I put one foot in front of the other, I realize that every day is an unknown gift. I never know what it's going to bring.
Now, this is not to say that every day is perfect or that I'm all sunshine and roses every waking minute. The good news is that I've learned I can start my day over at any time. When I feel myself getting agitated, I stop what I'm doing, take a deep breath in and then exhale slowly. I say a silent prayer asking God to help me re-focus on what I need to do to face the challenge of that day, or hour, or minute. When I pause, I can collect myself and that helps me almost every time. If, in those rare occasions, when I'm "seeing red" and I can't re-focus my energies, then I will usually go to a private place and talk out loud to God, asking for guidance to face the challenge or issue responsibly. These tools I've learned along my journey are gifts. I always know that I can start my day over at any time.
I have come to realize that I'm in God's hands always so I'm going to be okay - no matter what is going on around me. Every new day allows me to start over. That's very exciting!
Today I will remember I can start my day over at any time. I am grateful.
