"We don't know who we are until we see what we can do." - Martha Grimes, novelist
I grew up thinking that I could be happy when... (fill in the blank) - "when I start living on my own, when I get married, when I have children, when I divorce my spouse, when I, when I, when I". This left me confused and befuddled and I had no idea of who I was at all!
Once I let go of expecting an event to change my life, I started to concentrate on seeing what I could be and do. And, when I saw what I could be and do, I began to learn about who I was. Funny how that worked out. All I needed to do was to stop over-thinking everything and just start living.
Today it's not about gaining possessions or people in my life in order to add to my own personal value. Today it's about doing the next right thing. I appreciate my life today and I don't waste time thinking about what will make me happy when something new comes along or someone asks me out on a date. I'm happy now. Thank you God!
Today I will remember that I am capable of doing anything. Today I will call upon my inner strength to do what is right and help as many people as possible. I am grateful. - K Kerswig, Blue Skies Life Coaching
