"Winning the prize (1963 Nobel Peace Prize) wasn't half as exciting as doing the work itself." - Maria Goeppert Mayer, physicist and mathematician
Doing the work is exciting to me today. I love what I'm doing these days. I'm coaching people, I'm writing on a daily basis, and I've become an active participant in my own life as a direct result of this work. It's wonderful to be doing something you want to be doing.
I'm sure I'm not the first person to say this was not always how I approached my work. Years ago I felt as if all of my responsibilities were heavy burdens and it never occurred to me that I could pursue a job that allowed me to do something I liked while getting paid to do so. I was existing more than I was living and I dreaded going to work every day. I was miserable but I didn't even recognize why I was so unhappy.
Somewhere along the line, I realized that I could pursue my dreams. I realized I was worth the effort. So I went back to college, got my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and I've became a certified life and recovery coach. I'm so blessed.
I believe with all of my heart that my purpose in life is to help people. And, as I help them, I learn from them as well. This is a winning combination for me. Today I pray that everyone reading this will find their own personal winning combination. You deserve it.
