The Act Of Fishing

"Catching something is purely a by-product of our fishing. It is the act of fishing that wipes away all grief, lightens all worry, dissolves all fear and anxiety." - Gladys Taber, educator, editor, and writer

Actions are what count in my life. I can have as many good intentions as I want, but unless I'm willing to act in a responsible and caring manner, those good intentions mean nothing.

Reading this quote reminds me that my focus needs to be simple - do the next right thing, take the right action, and let go of the results. I've been taught by others that I'm responsible only for my efforts. I don't choose to sit in my worries today. Now I choose to go on with life, trust in the process, knowing that everything works out exactly as it should. I don't need to orchestrate outcomes today. When I remember this, the burden is lifted from my shoulders and I enjoy life a lot more.

Today I pray that I continue to "fish" the best way I know how. Today I will let life unfold naturally. Today I will trust in the process. All is well.
