"You can always, always give something, even if it is only kindness!" - Anne Frank, Jewish diarist during World War II
This is an important reminder for us all. Anne Frank was incredibly wise for such a young person and this quote is another example of just how wise she was. She emphasize the word "always" which tells me there are no exceptions. I must remember that.
As I go through my day, I am usually presented with lots of chances to be kind and considerate to those people I meet. Listening is always a good start. When I ask someone how they are, I am prepared to hear their answer, no matter how long or short an answer it may be. I believe that we all like to be heard. That is very important to me - therefore it is my responsibility to listen to others if I want to be heard by them as well.
It doesn't cost much for me to be kind to everyone I meet each day. It may actually make some one's day a little bit brighter if I just show them consideration and compassion. I am not perfect at this yet, but I practice extending kindness to others every day. I enjoy doing this and I will continue to do so because it does my heart good to put a smile on a friend's face.
Today I will choose to always give something.
