"We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another, unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations." - Anais Nin, novelist and diarist
This is something I can relate to completely. It actually describes so much of what I feel is going on with me. I am always grateful when I can relate my life experience to a quote such as this one.
Some days I feel "uneven". Some days I feel on top of the world, as if everything is working perfectly in my life. Each day brings me new feelings - about me, about life, about the world. I think that's what makes this such an exciting journey for me. These new feelings are a product of that mingling of my past, present, and even future.
Today I just want to grow - partially, unevenly - that doesn't matter. As long as I'm growing and learning, I'm happy. I accept all of my layers, cells, and constellations just as they are. And I am truly grateful for that.
