"Hope and change are hard-fought things." - Michelle Obama, first lady (2009 -)
Hope - there is always hope. As long as I am alive, I have hope. Change - the only thing that is consistent in this life is change. Some days it is not easy to remember these facts. Some days I don't have much energy to fight through the challenges that come my way.
I know this - it is worth fighting through the obstacles that come my way because I know I always have hope. Situations never stay the same; circumstances are constantly changing. My job is to put my best foot forward, put forth my best efforts each day, and know that all is well. I sometimes have to fight through the sadness I feel at times that all is lost. I have been taught that feelings are not facts. So I keep putting one foot in front of the other, knowing that things work out for the best every time.
It took me a long time to accept the fact that change is inevitable and that hope is always on my side. I imagine that I am not alone in this. I am sure that others have experienced these same reactions. If I can help one person recognize that hope is for everyone and change doesn't always mean loss, then I've accomplished something.
