Attractive Qualities

"There is a great Gloria Steinem quote - and I'm paraphrasing - 'Become the man you want to marry.' I've taken that on. What qualities do I find attractive, and can I find them in myself? What am I missing? Can I be that for myself?" - Michelle Williams, actor

I know there are certain qualities I find attractive in others. I don't need to judge people for qualities they do or do not have. I just need to work on myself - to be the very best "Kathleen" I can possibly be. That will allow me to attract positive people into my life. It's a "win, win" situation.

Some of the qualities I find attractive now are not the same qualities I found attractive when I was in my twenties and thirties. When I was younger I looked at outward appearances and made my judgments on superficial criteria. Now that I'm a little bit older, my opinion has changed regarding what I value most in myself and in the friends I choose to hang out with now. I am drawn to kind, considerate, and funny people. I am not attracted to loud, condescending, or sarcastic people but I am drawn to those who are humble and respectful of others. The quote above is true for me. The positive qualities I have mentioned here are the qualities I want to find in me.

My focus in life now is to be a woman who can be counted on, a woman who can be described as dependable and caring. I am not perfect but I can make improvements every day to become better and better. I am entirely grateful to have made it this far and my goal is to continue my journey in faith. I will continue to strive for progress and help as many people as possible. I am grateful for the chance to improve.
