A Dog's Admiration

"Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful." - Ann Landers, columnist

This is so cute. And true too! Dogs love everybody don't they? Dogs could probably teach people a thing or two about unconditional love. It's a rare commodity for human beings.

Unconditional love is such a beautiful gift. I have been blessed with several friends in my life who love me unconditionally. I love them the same way. We have an amazing connection with each other. I didn't know it was possible for me to truly accept someone exactly as they are without trying to change them or fix them. Fortunately, my friends showed me just how to do this. I have followed their example and I have reaped tremendous rewards as a result.

These days, I accept myself as I am. I don't have to fool myself into thinking I'm more or less wonderful or magnificent than I think. I don't have to pretend that I'm great just because my pets adore me. I love my pets and I love my friends. My friends encourage me and support me in my endeavors. I don't need any other evidence about who or what I am. My friends take care of that for me. I'm so blessed to have them in my life.
