Treasures Come With Change

"The garden is growth and change, and that means loss as well as constant new treasures to make up for a few disasters." - May Sarton, poet, novelist, and memoirist

Change is the only thing that is constant in this world. Nothing ever stays the same forever. Even though I know that intellectually, I still find myself thinking and hoping that things will remain they way they are. I sometimes would rather continue to struggle rather than risk changing.

Living life on life's terms can bring many results. Loss and disasters do happen sometimes. But as I grow and change, the treasures multiply and the amount of loss and number of disasters decrease. It's my belief that this is only possible because I fully rely upon God to carry me through the difficult times. I am not powerful enough to handle life. My God is big enough to handle everything. It comes down to this for me: I can't, He can, I think I'll let Him.

In the quote above, the phrase "constant new treasures" means everything to me. I am constantly receiving treasures in the form of friends appearing when I need them most or getting phone calls with good news at the best possible time. I never know when I'm going to be blessed with another treasure so I'm always on the lookout! I love this life. Thank you God!
