Equality

"Women are not going to be equal outside the home until men are equal in it." - Gloria Steinem, political activist, writer, and editor

Gloria Steinem always seems to get my attention with these quotes. I don't know what context this came from, but it makes me think about equality on every level for everybody. That may not be what the original statement was designed to do, but that's where my mind went so that's what I'm going to go with here.

I've come to a point in my life where people have become very important to me. Men and women, young and old, of any race, creed, and color - they all matter to me. They matter because I have come to believe that there is a Divine Spirit within us all. Underneath all of our faults and character defects, our pride and ego, there is a beautiful soul created by a Divine Power. I've come to believe that my Spirit connects with the Spirit of each person I meet. The only force I want in my life today is love. Love seems to attract love. That's how God designed us.

So, the bottom line here, as it pertains to the quote, is this. Everyone should be equal inside and outside of the home regardless of gender. Period.
