Better Questions

"Children ask better questions than adults. 'May I have a cookie?' 'Why is the sky blue?' and 'What does a cow say?' are far more likely to elicit a cheerful response than 'Where's your manuscript?' 'Why haven't you called?' and 'Who's your lawyer?" - Fran Lebowitz, writer

This is a wonderful observation. Eliciting a cheerful response should be my goal every day. I don't think I've ever been very concerned about that in the past. It's time to start.

There can be so much joy when interacting with children. Little ones tend to put a smile on my face. I'm enthralled with their sincerity when trying to get answers to their questions. Maybe this is what adults should do more often. Maybe we should ask for more cookies and not worry so much about what other people are doing.

Hmmmm, I think I might just have to try that! ;)
