"If we can recognize that change and uncertainty are basic principles, we can greet the future and the transformation we are undergoing with the understanding that we do not know enough to be pessimistic." - Hazel Henderson, economist and author
Oh, how I love this quote! I'm coming to understand that life is full of surprises and I never know what can happen at any time. My mind tends to project only negative outcomes so this quote is a reminder to me that things can go in any possible direction - not just in a bad one.
When I make choices in my life, I tend to second-guess myself when the outcome doesn't go my way. I tend to assume that the choice I avoided would have been a better one. But the truth is that I don't know that for sure. The choice I avoided may have turned out even worse than the one I went with in the first place.
Today I will accept the transformation I am going through with eagerness and joy. It may feel uncomfortable at times but that doesn't mean it's not all for my own good. Change and uncertainty doesn't have to be scary. It's all about my perception; today I perceive my life as a gift, change and all.
