"The truth about your own life is not always easy to accept and sometimes hasn't even occurred to you." - Anna Quindlen, author and Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist
I've been spending that last two years learning the truth about who I am and who I have been in the past. Some of it has been difficult to accept but not all of it. There have been some awesome truths that have come to light as well. And, as Ms. Quindlen alluded to above, I'm sure there is more that just hasn't occurred to me yet.
The most important fact for me to remember at all times is this: I needed to go through everything I went through in order for me to be at the place I'm at today. I had to learn the lessons put in front of me and I needed to make the choices I made in order to progress. I'm not the same person I was twenty years ago because I've learned so much along the way. Some lessons were extremely painful but they were also necessary.
I like who I am today and I will continue to grow for as long as I am on this Earth. I welcome the lessons now. I appreciate them and I love to share what I've learned with others so that they can learn from my experience and maybe even avoid some of the difficulties I faced.
Today I accept truth in my life. I welcome it and I am grateful for it. The truth, which I spent a long time avoiding, is actually my friend. Bring it on! :)
