"I don't wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has got to get down to work." - Pearl S. Buck, educator, Nobel Prize-winning novelist, and humanitarian
This is a good reminder for me. It's become apparent to me that I have many things on my "to do" list so if I want to accomplish everything on the list I don't have the luxury of time to wait until I'm in the "right" or "perfect" mood to begin.
When I have a long list of chores to do, I get so caught up in having too much to do that I don't get anything done! But when I just focus on moving forward, putting one foot in front of the other, and simply doing one task at a time, I usually get through my checklist much faster. I've learned I need to shift my focus off of how much there is to do and begin to concentrate on what can be done right now.
I have definitely had to learn many lessons in my lifetime so far. This shift in thinking has helped me get through my lessons sooner rather than later. Once I become willing to change my thinking and remain open to new possibilities, I make progress. So today I'm just going to get down to work and see what the results turn out to be. It's the best choice I can make.
