Overcoming Limitations

"The richness of the human experience would lose something of rewarding joy if there were no limitations to overcome." - Helen Keller, activist for the deaf and blind and winner of the 1964 Presidential Medal of Freedom

The quotes I see from Helen Keller amaze me. Ms. Keller is a shining example to me of overcoming limitations. She did not let any of her limitations hold her back from accomplishing so much in life. She helped so many others instead of waiting to receive help for herself. Self-pity did not win out in her life and that is how I want to live my life as well.

I've come to realize that this is an excellent lesson for me. I sometimes get caught up in what I cannot do rather than focusing on all that I can accomplish. I've been known to waste a lot of time and energy worrying about what I cannot do, which, in turn, causes me to lose more time and energy etc, etc, etc.

Today, therefore, I will choose to focus on what I can do and I will feel and own the richness of the human experience mentioned in the quote above. As I overcome my limitations, I will remember that my Higher Power is always helping me. My friends and family are expressions of God's guidance in my life. Today I will share and I will listen and I will be guided down my life's path. Thank you all for helping me every step of the way.
