"Women are never what they seem to be. There is the woman you see and there is the woman who is hidden. Buy the gift for the woman who is hidden." - Erma Bombeck, columnist
I like this gift idea, but this quote makes me think of another aspect of my life experience so far. I've put on a facade more often than not in order to appear as if all is well. I would never allow others to see my vulnerable side. I always wanted to appear strong, determined, and perfect! That's a very tall order and I struggled trying to pull it off.
I don't know about all women, but I know there is something to this description quoted above as far as I am concerned. I'm working on getting more in touch with the woman hidden within me. My true essence springs forth from my inner Spirit. That's what I want to connect with more often. When I do, I feel more at peace. My serenity comes from paying attention to this process. And, truth be told, I've come to love the way life is unfolding as I go deeper spiritually.
Today I pray that I am exactly as I seem to be. Today I will authentic. I don't need gifts - I just need to love my life as it unfolds. Thank You God!
