Be Somebody To Anybody

"One of the great diseases is to be nobody to anybody." - Mother Teresa, Christian missionary and winner of the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize

There are so many lonely people out in the world today. It is so sad when I think of the many who think they are useless and hopeless and not wanted. I used to feel this way at times. I would feel sorry for myself and I would make sure that everyone knew it. I felt as if nobody cared. This wasn't the truth, but I made it my truth for too many years.

I have figured out that when I concentrate on helping others, I end up receiving countless blessings in return. I don't need to feel sorry for myself. I am content today and that brings me a peace and a serenity that I had never experienced in years past. That's how I became a "someone" to other people in my life.

I know that everyone has a purpose in life. I believe that we all have something of ourselves to give to others. If I give of myself (my time, encouragement, moral support) to some people and those people give of themselves to others, the rewards will blow us all away. Today I pray that more of us join together in being someone to anyone. Namaste.
