"The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind." - William James, psychologist and philosopher
It has become abundantly clear to me that my attitude dictates everything in my life. If my attitude is negative, everything I view and experience seems to be just as negative. My thoughts are very powerful. If this is true, then it's my job to focus on the positive in order to have the best attitude. It's the healthiest choice for me.
Recently I heard an affirmation that has helped me alter my life in a powerful way. In fact, the quote by Williams James was used during a Sunday service when Valleri Crabtree, founder of Universe Responding, came to share her message at my church. The affirmation is from Valleri and it is "I am happy, healthy, whole, prosperous, and loved". No matter what is going on around me, this statement is true. I believe that there is a Divine Spirit within me that keeps me in this perpetual state of wellness. As I practice more prayer and meditation, repeating this affirmation, I'm filled with a sense of wholeness as well as calm and serenity. My human body and mind may stray from time to time, but as soon as I remember who I really am, I'm comforted and the attitude of my mind is returned to its rightful place.
So, since this approach has been altering my attitude and, therefore, my life, I think I'll keep doing what I'm doing. It's worked so well. I hope whoever reads this will do the same. Together we truly are happy, healthy, whole, prosperous, and loved! Have a great Sunday everyone!
