The Power Of Laughter

"What monstrous absurdities and paradoxes have resisted whole batteries of serious arguments, and then crumbled swiftly into dust before the ringing death-knell of a laugh!" - Agnes Repplier, essayist

I love to laugh! I've been blessed with a good sense of humor. I think I got that from my mother. I enjoy joking around with people and trying to bring some humor into the mix when I'm in a situation with others that is getting too tense. Mom liked to bring laughter and humor into those kinds of situations too.

When I think of ringing sounds of laughter, I always think about the visits I would have with my family, in particular with my mother and her younger sister. My memories of those visits are still fresh in my mind. These two women were a riot together. They would tell stories about life experiences they had and they would be laughing so hard that they couldn't even finish telling the stories. I don't remember all of the details of these stories, but I promise you that I remember the sound of the laughter that would fill the room when we all got together.

I believe that laughter and humor have the power to turn a potentially serious situation around. I love to laugh and I've surrounded myself with friends who love to laugh as well. Joy comes with this laughter. I am truly grateful for this gift of humor. Thank you God!
