Do The Most Good

"Women's place is where they can do the most good." - Esther Peterson, women's advocate and winner of the 1981 Presidential Medal of Freedom

I believe that all people, men and women, have a responsibility to strive to do the most good. I don't think that women have a different "place" than men. I believe that we are all human beings and we all are working towards the same goals. It doesn't matter what the gender of a person is when it comes to doing good works.

With that being said, I am reminded that the journey I'm on right now is one that allows me to help others on a regular basis. As I'm helping others, I'm blessed with many gifts in return - gifts of friendship, laughter, wisdom, and constructive suggestions from those I am spending time with. Most of the time, I get more from the interactions I have with them than they do from me. When I make suggestions to someone seeking advice, it usually turns out that the suggestion is apropos for me as well. So if I suggest it, I'd better be willing to do it too!

For me, this is Spirit in action. I'm a firm believer in my Higher Power speaking to me through other people. The ideas come to me in conversations or as I'm sitting at home quietly contemplating life in general. I am truly grateful today that I've come to realize I am always going to get exactly what I need at the right moment. Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!
