"Courage is more exhilarating than fear, and in the long run it is easier." - Eleanor Roosevelt, first lady (1933 - 1945) and reform leader
I never thought of courage as being exhilarating but I guess it really is. When I decide to move forward and face a fear or just take on a project that I've never taken on before, I do get a sense of excitement and anticipation. I know it means I'm growing and that I'm willing to learn more.
I've always been the kind of person who looks for the easier and softer way. I've learned over the years that taking the time to do something right actually is the easier, softer way. Otherwise, I usually run the risk of having to do the project over a second or third time because I tried to take a shortcut.
So, for today, I will remember that exhilaration comes with courage and that it is easier in the long run. I am grateful to be learning these lessons every day of my life. This is what makes me so happy to be alive!
