"A face is like the outside of a house, and most faces, like most houses, give us an idea of what we can expect to find inside." - Loretta Young, Academy Award-winning actor
I know that many times our faces can tell the story of what is going inside of us. But, not always! There are times when I put on a happy face so that people wouldn't ask me what was wrong. There are times when the face doesn't always tell the whole story.
Have you ever wanted to be like someone else or have you ever wanted the life that they appeared to have? Well, I have gotten myself into trouble at times for wishing that my life could be different. I assumed that other people's insides matched their outsides but there are some people who just wear a mask in order to fool the people around them. Sometimes those who appear to be happy are really hurting deep down inside and I want to always remember that. I want to help those who are suffering, even if they don't appear to have any problems at all. We all have to face life on life's terms; we don't have to suffer through it by ourselves.
I don't want to wear a mask today. I don't want to work at fooling anyone anymore. I want to be authentic. I want to be true to myself and I want to show others that it can be done without pain or suffering.
I am myself today. I am so grateful.
