"I am not going to question your opinions. I am not going to meddle with your belief. I am not going to dictate to you mine. All that I say is, examine, inquire. Look into the nature of things. Search out the grounds of your opinions, the for and the against. Know why you believe, understand what you believe, and possess a reason for the faith that is in you." - Frances Wright, nineteenth-century lecturer, writer, and social reformer
This is beautifully written. All we can ask of each other is to examine, inquire, and know why we believe as we do. It is not my place to judge anyone, anywhere, anytime. It is not my place to tell anyone they are wrong. I'm learning new things every day and as new information comes to me, new opinions are formed.
I used to be very opinionated and I would express those opinions without consideration for any other possibilities. I've learned that I don't have all the answers and I don't know everything. I can learn from everyone I meet. That is what I choose to do today and every day. I am grateful.
