Judgment Slowly Turns...

"It is not until you become a mother that your judgment slowly turns to compassion and understanding." - Erma Bombeck, columnist

Life is never the same once a child comes into your life. My judgment about everything changed as a direct result of having my two children. It's an amazing phenomenon.

Compassion and understanding are just two of the things that come to us when we become parents. We have to learn very quickly how to care for a helpless little baby who can't care for themselves at all. It's stressful, it's blissful, it's a long-term commitment, and it is worth all of the hard work that goes into raising children.

Becoming a mother is a big undertaking. There have been many times when I have been blessed with a connection to another young woman who may not be my daughter biologically but is like a daughter in many ways. I have learned that I have much love to give and I choose to give it as often as possible. Compassion and understanding go along with the love I give. It's a blessing to be able to connect with people this way. Connections can happen with anyone where there is compassion and understanding. That's a beautiful thing.

Today I will show love, compassion, and understanding to everyone I meet. I am grateful.
